Abstract
Դիոդորոս Սիկիլիացու «Պատմական գրադարան»-ում (II-, 1,7-10) կա հիշատակություն Հայաստանի արքա Բարզանեսի մասին, որը որպես ասորական արքա Նինոսի դաշնակից մասնակցություն է ունեցել Միդիայի թագավոր Ֆառնեսի դեմ մղված պատերազմին։ Հիշյալ վկայության դիտարկումը ցույց է տալիս, որ այն Կտեսիաս Կնիդացու կողմից մ.թ.ա. 714-713 թ . եղելության մասին մարական առասպելի վերապատմումն է, երբ Մունասիրի արքա Ուրզանան ասորեստանցիների կողմից իր երկրի նվաճումից հետո անցավ վերջինների կողմր և մասնակցեց Միդիայի (Մարաստան) դեմ Սարգոն II-ի արշավանքին: Արդյունքում զոհվեց Միդիայի կառավարիչ Ֆառնես-Դեյոկը։ In "Historical Library" (II, 1,7— 10) of Diodor of Sicily there is a mention about the king of Armenia Barzanes, who as the ally of the Assyrian king Ninus, took part in the war against the Median king Farnes. The consideration of the given message shows, that it is a retelling by Ktessias of a Median legend of an event of 714 — 713 В. C., when king of Musasir Urzana after the conquest of his country by Assyrians passed on their side and had taken part in a campaign of Sargon II against Media. In an outcome of a campaign the Median governor Farn-Deyok perished.
